COVID 19 relief work

We are working with other organizations to assist affected families and laborers because of COVID 19. When lockdown came into force in March 2020, many migrant laborers were returning to their homes either by walk or other means of travel. We assisted them in reaching their home safely. Migrant laborers who were returning from Gujarat were quarantined and community level monitoring was done for people’s safety.

What we did

Made district collectors aware of migrant laborers who were coming from the forest to their villages. District collector appointed ASHA and government teachers for visiting every house for screening.

The administration was informed that the government has provided 10 kg of wheat for 2 months to each family free of cost, so no need to add flour in the ration kit and add spice masala in the ration kit.

Kaurali district administration passed an order of distributing sanitary pads stocked in government schools to girls and women. We shared the order with the district collector of Udaipur and requested to pass the same order. The order was passed and 6317 sanitary pads were distributed through Anganwadis.

Tendu leaves are the primary source of livelihood in Kotra. This year the contractor did not take a contract for the same which affected families. We contacted district and state administration for the same which resulted in a tender of 2 units (Juda & Sulav) for less rate.

2 centers (kyaari and maamer) were set up in kotra for buying wheat at support price with the help of the government.

Small shopkeepers in villages were facing problems in bringing materials from the main market because police were stopping them. We spoke with sub-district administration to keep the supply chain active by issuing a pass to shopkeepers by police.

Due to lockdown, work on issues like forest rights, work under MNERGA, Silicosis, etc. were stopped. We gave a letter to the sub-district officer on June 18, 2020, to restart these works which will benefit the people of Kotra.

To ensure that no one remains hungry because of sudden lockdown, ration kits were distributed. With help of the government and other non-profit organizations, 1155 ration kits were distributed in Kotra, 2400 in Pindwada, and 1000 in Sumerpur.

₹23,100 cash was deposited in Kotra's disaster management relief fund with help of public support.

Surveys were conducted to prepare a list of needy families and that list was given to the government so that those families could get ration help.

Assistance is given to teams present at border check-post for screening migrant labourers. There are 9 checkpoints in Kotra.

Assisted in payment of ₹8.5 crores to various beneficiaries under different government schemes. Those beneficiaries were 23,251 pensioners, 560 families who come under Palanhar yojna and MNREGA.

226 leaders of gram sabha are helping to distribute relief materials provided by the state and central government.

We are able to do all of this with the help of our contributors, Donate now and become one of them
